Dr. Michael Postma is a consultant, speaker, and author dedicated to the holistic development of twice-exceptional children and other non-typical learners through his company Agility Educational Solutions. Born and raised in the Toronto area, Dr. Postma received his Bachelors Degree in Classical History at McMaster University before enrolling at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI to obtain his teacher licensure. He lived and worked briefly in Vancouver, British Columbia before moving to Minnesota where he enrolled at the University of St. Thomas in the Gifted, Talented & Creative Education Masters Program. After completing his M.A., Dr. Postma continued his education at St. Thomas and received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Critical Pedagogy). Over the last two decades, Dr. Postma has worked as both a teacher and administrator in the public school system and is the architect of the Minnetonka Navigator Program, a magnet school for highly and profoundly gifted students. He currently lives in Surf City, SC and is the father of four children, two of whom have Aspergers.
Development Director: Jessica Mansmith
Jessica joined SENG in 2018 with 25+ years in the independent sector and experience with nonprofits of all types: arts and culture, animal welfare, LGBTQ, health and wellness, human services, children and families, life coaching and more. Her skills include marketing, communications, board engagement, strategic planning, and operations. However, Jessica’s career has focused primarily on fundraising and development. Her expertise includes annual giving, major gifts, foundation grants, corporate gifts and sponsorships, capital campaigns, planned giving, endowments, and special events.
She holds a Master’s in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor’s in English from the State University of New York at Albany.
In her personal life, Jessica is a visual artist, world traveler, urban and rural explorer, community volunteer, and music enthusiast. She resides in Upstate New York with her fiancée, Tom, and their two cats, Otto and Jack.
Natalie comes to SENG with a Manhattan retail furniture background. As a Vice-President, she played a vital role in marketing and finance, and as the stores expanded, initiated the corporation’s human resources department. She has traveled to Europe extensively to source new suppliers, enjoys the negotiation process and prioritizes cost savings in all areas of the organization.
Natalie is a volunteer fundraiser and event coordinator with the largest food pantry in the county, and is in her 7th year mentoring elementary students. She is the mother of two amazing young men – one in medical school and one pursuing a Masters in Educational Policy and Leadership.
Saba G. Seyoum assumed her present role with SENG in 2016. Saba relocated from Virginia to this area where she was a Senior Accountant with Virginia Premier Health Plan in Richmond. She was with Virginia Premier for 6 years. Prior to that, Saba lived in San Jose CA where she was a Staff Accountant with Brocade Communication Systems and Flextronics International for about 6 years. In addition, Saba was an Accounting Coordinator for 4 years at Clorox headquarters in Oakland CA.
Saba has a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from San Francisco State University. Saba resides with her family in Clifton Park, New York.
Communications Specialist: Brian Shea
Brian Shea assumed the role of SENG’s Communications Specialist in June of 2018. He is a seasoned government and communications professional currently serving as Chief of Staff to the Mayor of New York’s Capital City. Brian holds a Master of Public Administration from Marist College and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Binghamton University. He resides in Albany, NY.
