About the Presenter

Andy Mahoney MS, LCPC, is the founder of The Center for Identity Potential, specialized counseling centers for the gifted and talented in Chicago and Detroit. Recognized as an expert and pioneer in the field of counseling the gifted and talented, Andy has over 30 years’ experience as a counselor, family therapist, presenter and trainer of counselors, mental health professionals and professionals working with the gifted and talented. He is the creator of THE FIT (formerly known as the Gifted Identity Formation Model) and THE FIT software developed by MAZIK GLOBAL, a Microsoft gold partner company. He was the past chair of the counseling and guidance division of NAGC. Known also for his contributions to the development of the gifted and twice-exceptional (2E) paradigm and how to counsel the 2E population with a strong focus on working with identity development and achievement in academics and talent development. Andy is a dynamic and informative presenter and his approach offers a unique, and practical methodology for working with the gifted and talented population.
