From Nigrescence to Critical Race, there are many theories that attempt to explain the influence of the environment on the opinion of a person’s self identity. Adding this this dynamic are the unique experiences that a child may experience being gifted and how that self identity evolves over time. This presentation provides information intended to identify specific behaviors, make recommendations on how to respond to such behaviors, and suggestions on actions that must be further explored.
