Helping Mental Health Professionals
There is a great need for mental health professionals who have expertise working with the gifted. Every day, SENG receives calls and emails from people seeking professionals who will understand them and their emotional needs—or the unique needs of their children.
Whether you are a mental health professional looking to serve your clients’ needs, or you are simply interested in learning more about the social/emotional needs of gifted individuals, SENG’s Continuing Education programs can provide you with the knowledge you need. We offer programming through home-study courses, webinars, and workshops at our annual conference. SENG Professional Members are eligible for discounts on our CE home-study courses and our annual conference registration (not for specific conference workshops).
If you are a mental health professional, you can become eligible to be listed on our Professional Members page. This professionals page helps you to advertise your services, and helps individuals to find mental health professionals with training in gifted issues. To be listed, complete at least four SENG Continuing Education Programs, or significant other professional training in serving the gifted population.
We provide special denotation on our website for Recognized Professionals. Learn more about this program and apply to be included by completing a professional-member-listing-form.
Each state has different requirements for licensure. A summary of those requirements can be found in the Handbook of Licensing and Certification Requirements for Psychologists in the U.S. and Canada, which is published by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB). For more information, visit the ASPPB Web site. You can also contact your State’s Board of Psychology for information.
