February Topic: Psychiatric Perspective on Twice-exceptionality: Diagnostic Distinctions Between Learning Disabilities and Learning Inhibitions

About:

Gifted individuals with learning disabilities are often identified as twice exceptional. In this session, Dr. Grobman will describe the psychological dynamics of learning inhibitions, how to assess both the gifted and the learning component, and how to avoid misdiagnoses. Distinguishing between learning disabilities and learning inhibitions will be addressed through a case study.
